Sad news from Warwick that Bob passed away on July 31, 2009. I last saw him at Kenny Black's funeral and he was as engaging and gracious as usual. A large loss for Warwick, especially his many friends and his family.
The obituary folloows:
Robert H. Schmick, Sr. of Warwick, NY, entered into rest on July 31, 2009 at O.R.M.C., Arden Hill Campus in Goshen, NY. He was 67.
Born November 2, 1941 in Warwick, he was the son of the late Henry W. Schmick and Ethel Mae Tomer. He was married to Carolyn Bogdanski Schmick.
Bob was a charter member and the first Captain of Engine Company #3 of the Warwick Fire Department. He was a professional land surveyor and a past member of the Warwick Jaycees. He enjoyed working with the draft horses he had for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn; his daughter, Darlene Schmick of Virginia Beach, VA; his son, Robert Schmick Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Westtown; grandchildren: Amanda, Tyler, Keith and Kyle; his sister, Audrey Samuels of Warwick; Uncle James Schmick Sr. of Vernon, NJ; Aunt Marie Schmick; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Rt. #1, Pine Island, NY 10969.
