Carole Faye Paffenroth of Warwick entered into rest on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014. She was 75. She was a dedicated mother who focused on her family and her Lord. Her love of family and church provided the strong foundation by which her family has lived by and will draw upon in this time of loss. The daughter of Lena Wilhelm Langlitz George M. Langlitz, she was born June 19, 1938, in Goshen. Carole was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church of Pine Island, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was on the Alter Guild and served as secretary of the church. She was also retired from the Village of Warwick, where she was Village Clerk for more than 20 years. Carole was predeceased by her husband Harvey H. “Strawberry” Paffenroth, the love of her life, whom she married on Oct. 6, 1957. They were married for 53 years. Survivors include three daughters: Lori Ann DeBlock and her husband James of Goshen, Kim Paffenroth of Warwick and Amy Paffenroth-Lijoi and her husband Stephen of Suffern; her mother Lena Langlitz of Greenville; four grandchildren: James K. DeBlock Jr. and his fiancé Hanna Donnachie, Sarah DeBlock and Aaron and Rachel Faye Lijoi; sister Nancy Stanfield and her husband James of Eastham, Mass.; brother Melvin Langlitz and his wife Carol of Thompson Ridge; sister and brother-in-laws: Alice Paffenroth, Katherine and Daniel Dembeck, Carol Paffenroth, all of Pine Island, and Roland and Catherine Paffenroth of Westtown; many nieces and nephews and dear friends Kathy, Mary, Pat and Stella. Funeral services were held Thursday at the T.S. Purta Funeral Home in Pine Island. The Rev. Travis Yee officiated. Burial was in Warwick Cemetery.
