Coach Ash has had all possible tributes from our town, so I won't try to add to that list here.
He was one of many kind, caring and talented men that were WHS athletic coaches during the 1950s. The others: Vito Magdelinskas, Phil Chase, Hank Lamoreaux, and Gerry Decatur .. and more.
It never occurred to us that coaching was work for these men. They were extensions of our own families and for any degree of good behavior that we exhibited during our youth, much credit rightfly belongs to them.
This picture was taken during the fall of my senior year at the 1957 Cornwall football game.
