Hi, Ed -- just stumbled over a picture taken at Greenwood Lake of Jim Clark, Kjell Pedersen, and myself doing a little acrobatic stance!! Would have to guess the summer of 1945. Picture was taken by Don Kimble, since the 4 of us traveled together all thru high school, much to the disgruntlement of Superintendent Roy Epting. (Or was it just Principal in those days??) Anyway, we were all part of the Sons of Swing dance band thru those years, and made a habit of skipping school and heading for Broadway in NYC when a particular big band was playing the stage show. He told me once that when one of us was out of school, he didn’t even bother to check on the other 3 because he knew they’d be out as well!! Actually had a nice rapport with him, and used to give me the keys to the school so we could rehearse during the weekend. Can you believe it? Can’t imagine that happening today!! ... from
