Warwick, NY in the 1940s and 1950s
Mike O'Brien's Wall of Fame
Mike O'Brien wrote me a letter (email)recently about a discovery that he made at the old Warwick high School (now the Park Ave. School). I'll let him tell it:

Hi Ed:My name is Mike O'Brien. I am the head custodian at the Park Ave. School which as you probably know is the old Warwick high school.Up in the old projector room above the gymnasium there are still names of athletes written on the wall! These date back to the late 40s and the 50s. I'm sure you would be familiar with many if not all of the names. I took a few pictures of the names with my digital camera.Although they may not be appropriate for you page I thought that you might be personally interested. If so, I'll be glad to email them to you. Also, the old scoreboard in the gym was finally taken down last week and discarded. I took a few pictures of that too with a regular camera. I havn't had the film dev'd yet.Anyway, I really like your page. I've lived in Warwick for a long time but am not a 'native.' Let me know if you would like to see the pictures...Mike
Speaking for myself and I'm sure for all of the esteemed members of this Warwick Wall of Fame, I can't thank you enough Mike, You certainly have an eye for history.
