News of Warwick from Bobby Hart
ews of Warwick

Over the past years Bob Hart has taken it upon himself to pass along Warwick related articles from the local newspapers, especially those that may be of interest to us - kids of the 30s, 40s, and 50s.

Likewise I have thought that such news would fit the TownScrapbook site just fine, and, but for my procrastion disease, I would have included the "Bob Hart News" earlier. Anyway here it is, better late than never. Thanks Bobby.

Fire destroys barn on Shuback Farm

   By Jessica Gardner

   Fire broke out just before
6 p.m. yesterday, leveling a barn on the Shuback Farm, owned by Warwick Town Council member Marion "Mickey" Shuback.
Bright red flames from the wooden structure off
Mount Eve Road in Florida could be seen licking the skyline as far away as Chester. The smoke drifted even farther.
The wife of a farm employee said the barn was used primarily as a workshop and housed farm equipment.
Emergency personnel were still on scene several hours after the fire started. There were no reported injuries. No other information was available last night.
Several departments responded to the scene or were on stand-by, including:
Pine Island, Goshen, Warwick, Greenwood Lake, Mechanicstown, Campbell Hall, Slate Hill and Unionville.
Shuback, a local sod farmer, was elected to
Warwick's Town Board in November 2001. He was not available for comment last night.
